Business After Hours
The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce was excited to hold yet another successful Business After Hours event on Thursday May, 12th from 6-8 pm. The event was sponsored and held by Concord Hospital Rehabilitation Services at Concord Hospital Medical Offices, East 1990 Dover Road in Epsom.
Once chamber members arrived, we were directed to the Rehabilitation Services gym on the second floor. The gym was set up to provide a buffet style meal, which was very good.
The gym was the perfect location to allow approximately 30 chamber members the chance to partake in several wellness stations. These wellness stations represented some of the services that Concord Hospital Rehabilitation Services provides. The stations included a gait/walking analysis of the chamber members where they were given education/recommendations on footwear. There were also stations on: Falls risk screening, postural screening, how to properly set up your computer work station, and education on Women and Men’s health.
During the second hour Melanie Bieniek, DPT, OCS, CLT Rehabilitation Manager, from Rehabilitation Services gave us an overview of physical and occupational therapy services offered to patients of all ages. Physical and Occupational Therapists treat a variety of conditions at this facility including general orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, women’s and men’s health issues, lymphedema, vestibular/balance disorders, neurological conditions, hand injuries and work related injuries. They are skilled in fabricating custom splints to support hand and arm function as well as orthotics for improving foot alignment and support.
We were also given a demonstration of a new state of the art piece of equipment that is called The Active-step. This is a treadmill which simulates life like balance challenges, like a trip or a slip. They are currently working with Dartmouth College on a study utilizing this piece of equipment as part of a fall prevention program.
It is worth noting that The Jungle Drop donated an herbal plant to go with the wellness theme, which was raffled off at the end of the evening.
We would like to send out a special Thank You to the staff of the Concord Hospital Medical Offices East building! They provided a wonderful welcoming atmosphere for a great networking event!

A tour of Vintage Hill was given. We were able to see all the amenities that Vintage Hill has to offer their residents. The house feels like home and is very welcoming to anyone that comes to visit! Each resident has their own room plus there is the common area that they can enjoy the company of others within.
The food is also another wonderful thing! They had appetizers set out for everyone to enjoy. They serve home cooked meals for their residents’ everyday and the residents are able to sit at a large dining table and eat together.
After our tour of the facility we all enjoyed a Yankee swap. This was a lot of fun!!! Everyone walked away with a great gift, but it was enjoyable watching everyone open their gifts and hide them from others so as not to get stolen!!!

The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce held their monthly Business After Hours. The event was sponsored by Ponderosa Disposal, LLC located on 78 White Birch Lane in Epsom, Tuesday, September 14th. They provided an exciting atmosphere for all Chamber Members to meet and interact with one another.
Refreshments and snacks were put out for everyone to enjoy. Rick provided everyone with a vegetable platter, subway subs and chips and then topped everything off with brownies. We all grabbed a plate and sat down at one of the tables and enjoyed dinner together! We ate like kings!!!
After we finished dinner we all went for a walk around Rick Belanger’s facility. This is the cleanest salvage yard that I have ever seen. Rick is wonderful at recycling the old to make something new. He has busses in his yard where he stores things that had fluids in them so that they are under cover and off of the ground. He has made most of his structural storage spaces out of recycled materials. It is truly a work of art or at least I think so!!!
Ponderosa Disposal offers numerous services. The first of many is the dumpster/roll-off containers which there are three sizes to choose from. This is great for house demolitions or for people like me who need to strip their roof of the old shingles. This is a licensed transfer station, licensed salvage yard and they also offer small structure demolition as well as tire disposal services.
The best part of the night I do have to say is when he showed us the tractors. For fun, Rick likes to have tractor pulls in his yard. He has a small track set up to do such a thing. He let one of the girls that attended the event ride the tractor around the yard. We were all laughing but I think she had the biggest grin of all!!

The event was sponsored by Barton Lumber located on 245 Province Road (Route 107) in Barnstead, Tuesday, August 17th. They provided an exciting atmosphere for all Chamber Members to meet and interact with one another.
Refreshments and snacks were put out for everyone to enjoy. A tour of the facility was given. We were even lucky enough to have a tour of the saw mill that they have on site. This was an awesome experience. It was fascinating to see how they used to use the machines.
Barton Lumber really amazed me. I thought you could only purchase wood there, but they have so much more than that. They have shingles for roofing, they have material for siding, they have flooring, deck materials plus anything you could need for extras like nails etc… It is like having a one stop building supply shop in your back yard!!
I don’t know how many times myself I have been working on a project at home and had to stop because I needed something else that I didn’t have. I had to drop all that I was doing and run all the way to Concord just for one simple thing in order to complete the project. Had I known that Barton Lumber had the materials I was looking for I could have saved myself a long drive and finished the job a lot sooner!

Services at CH Medical Offices East,
1990 Dover Road in Epsom.
Once chamber members arrived, we were directed to the Rehabilitation Services gym on the second floor. The gym was set up to provide a buffet style meal catered by The Red Blazer Restaurant and Pub. It was a great way to welcome us to their facility. The food was phenomenal! The gym was the perfect location to allow about 50 chamber members representing area businesses to explore what other businesses were present.
Once the first hour
had past and everyone had a chance to eat, Melanie Bieniek, DPT, OCS,
Rehabilitation manager, from Rehabilitation S
ervices
gave us a
Afterwards, we took a
tour of the entire facility. This was an amazing facility. It was so large
that participants were split up into about five smaller groups to have the
best experience on the tour. We went to the Rehabilitation Services offices
that were on the same floor as the gym. As we moved further down the
corridor, we were greeted by Marcia Stockman, practice manager for Epsom
Family Medicine. She along with
some
of The Epsom Family Medicine providers gave us an educational tour of their
facility. Epsom Family Medicine provides comprehensive medical care to the
entire family. Epsom Family Medicine also has a psychiatrist available from
Riverbend Community Mental Health to assist in any emotional blocks that might
be hindering a patient’s ability to heal.
Then we went downstairs to Concord Hospital Laboratory Services. They offer blood drawing services and specimen drop-off. We were shown the offices in that area and were later directed us to Concord Imaging Center. Concord Imaging Center has an Open MRI machine so that people who are claustrophobic can have the procedure done without the discomfort and fear the other machines may give them. Trained staff has the capability of taking and processing their own images.
The tour of the offices was phenomenal, very organized, and informative. We would like to send out a special Thank You to the staff of the Concord Hospital Medical Offices East building! They provide a wonderful welcoming atmosphere for a great networking event!

such as dumbbells and kettlebells. On a north wall there were bars that are
used for pull-ups and chin ups.
Nancy and Dean are the owners of Get Fit NH Bootcamp.
Dean
spoke about the activities that they provide within the facility and how they
work on a time structure, so every exercise is timed in order to allow each
person to move at their own individual pace. This also allows new people to
join at all times.
After going over the structure of how they facilitate
their workouts, all of the Chamber Members were able to participate in a
game. I was handed what looked like a basket ball and was surprised when it
weighed more than expected. The game that we all played was similar to hot
potato. We all gathered around in a circle and Dean and Nancy controlled the
music. We passed two medicine balls around and whoever was holding the ball
at the end was out. This is a normal warm up that they like to incorporate at
the facility. The people that are out go and do some exercises independently
until the game is finished. This is a fun and enjoyable way to start warming
up the body. Na
ncy
and Dean incorporate games including a Fun Friday which you will have to talk
to them to find out more about!! They make working out fun as well as
