The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce sponsored the eleventh annual Town Wide Yard Sale on June 7, 2008.  The weather cooperated this year and it was actually quite warm. 

There were 58 registered yard sales on the map – 5 of which were group locations. 

New this year was the chance to win a $25 gas card donated by Northway Bank. Yard sale visitors could enter the contest by completing the word scramble listed on the inside of the”official” map.  Each registered location was given a letter as part of their registration packet and visitors collected the letters and tried to solve the word scramble  - “Welcome to Pittsfield! The Gem of the Suncook Valley.  Come Back Soon!” 

All proceeds from the registration fees, advertising sponsorships and map sales benefit Chamber sponsored events such as the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Children’s Store, the Pittsfield High School Graduate College Scholarship, the downtown banners, and the directory. 

The Chamber would like to thank the various businesses and organizations that provided space for the registration forms and sold maps.  Thanks to the Pittsfield Town Hall, Post Office, Moo-Veez Galore, Zoya’s Restaurant, Northway Bank, St. Stephen’s Church and Globe Mfg. Thank you also to Granite Image for setting up and printing forms and maps and to The Suncook Valley Sun for all their advertising efforts.
