The
Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce partnered with Pittsfield Listens to
sponsor "Meet the Candidates Night" on Monday, March 5. The format was
changed from the traditional panel of candidates and audience asking
questions to small group round table discussions. All candidates were
invited to attend the evening to participate and to also submit a one-page
letter for inclusion in a packet handed out at the event.
Fifteen candidates were present and they were each assigned to a certain
table and then the public was invited to join them for small group
discussions. People were at the tables for approximately 20 minutes and
throughout the evening they were able to visit 5 different tables.
Facilitators were at each table to keep the conversations focused and
respectful and to record the comments.
Approximately 60 people participated in the event. Thanks to all who
made it a success and good luck to all the Candidates.
