1993, this $300 scholarship is open to any current/past graduate of Pittsfield
Kelsey Metcalf will be attending UNH, Whittemore School of Business. Kelsey Metcalf, seen here with her grandparents, Paul and Lucia Metcalf, was involved in many activities both at school and in her community. She served as class president, and was a member of Student Council. She played and served as a captain on the soccer, basketball and softball teams all 6 of her years at PMHS. She was even offered a place on the women's soccer team at New England College. She was an active member of the Victory Workers 4-H Club, as an officer and member of the Dairy Club. She was also active in sewing, arts and crafts, woodworking, and community service projects. The Chamber of Commerce felt Kelsey Metcalf was very deserving of this scholarship. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
In 2000 a banner committee was formed to raise funds, design and purchase Holiday and Seasonal Banners to replace the very tired Holiday Pole decorations that had been re-furbished until they were forced into retirement. Ten (10) banners/hardware were installed for the Holiday Season that year on Main Street, Carroll Street and Factory Hill. Since that time we have added Welcome to Pittsfield Banners, Patriotic Flag Banners and the Hot Air Balloon Banners. This is an on-going project for the Chamber as banners will need to be ordered on an alternating basis to maintain replacement cycles. Donations may be made to this fund at any time. Simply make your check payable for any amount to the Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce and note Banner Fund in the note line. Replacement costs run between $ 65.00 and $ 150.00 each depending on the design. Candidates Night 2004 was the first year, of this now annual event, the Chamber oversaw Candidates Night in Pittsfield. Held in the PMHS Media room before Election Day, all candidates running for election/re-election were invited to introduce themselves to the community and answer questions voters may have had. Link to 2008 Candidates night. The Chamber does not, as a body support any individual running for election. We are only providing a platform for the Candidates and Community to meet.
